I'm sorry to say I never knew anyone named Angelina. I never met anyone in a cafe and gave her a ride home. But everywhere I've played this song, in whatever band whether duo or rock group, people really like it. They sing along and dance to it, and it seems to have taken on a life all its own. Creating this arrangement for the album was a great experience. This is one of the tracks that has no fiddle on it. When we perform it live, Jane plays guitar so I can play lead during the breaks and she can fill in the backup vocals. Coast Recording came up with the idea to add the 'lull' in the last verse, and we both loved what we heard. Then Jane animated the crow in boots from the cover and made the lyric video for Youtube. If you haven't seen it, yet, you're missing out. Click here to watch.
Finally Angelina is preserved in a recording. I've dreamed of an album since I wrote my first song as a teen. It's a great feeling to put this fictitious beauty as the opening track. "Never counted on El Corazon on a downward spiral roll."
